ABOUT SOPHIE NEWKIRK
Born in a French-Canadian household in Montreal, Sophie developed a taste for the culinary arts early on. She started out as a pastry cook in the hospitality industry before navigating from the kitchen to the dining room. Then, Sophie sailed the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean for several years on private yachts where she worked as a chef and a first mate. She settled back on land in the wine world and has since run wine programs for prestigious restaurants in Canada and the United States and has worked for wine importers and distributors in diverse positions. She holds a WSET Diploma and is a Certified Wine Educator.
